A search update review

Britannica

  • No pushy encyclopaedia sales personnel...
  • No heavyweight encyclopaedias cluttering up the book shelf...
  • Almost instant, online access to every Britannica article...

Yes, there's a lot to like about Britannica .com!

Yes, Virginia, there is an answer.

Finding pure, unadulterated information on the net can be a time consuming affair. Searches can return superfluous results, or none at all- and the promising stuff can be a real let down when you finally get to the page.

Britannica com then is the way to go if you need encyclopaedia style information on a subject- 'cos your guaranteed a  useful result to most queries.

Don't judge an encyclopaedia by its cover

Even better, Britannica com supplies links both within and at the end of articles. Some are links to related articles at Britannica, others are useful (and human generated) web links. Very handy!

To buy or to net?

Britannica is available on CD, and in a variety of guises too. So should you buy or net? For the occasional user, sue the net. You may not get the flash multimedia, but you will get answers and great links. For home use by students, buy the CD and save your Internet connection time!

Overall

Superb. Make Britannica com one of your first stops when searching. You'll be glad you did!
