trekker is a fabulous site, easy to use with great results.
Unfortunately, it's not going to remain free for too much
longer: so visit it while you can!
Net Trekker, unlike most other net search engines, consists
of sites that have been reviewed by humans, and in this case,
most often teachers.
The result? Superb sites right at your fingertips.
Getting started
 You
can search on Net Trekker, or you can 'drill down' through
subject headings (such as science, social studies, or language
arts) down to the topic you're after.
The subject areas reflect school curricula, and the the
topics, and sub-topics are pretty specific!
Results
 When
you reach the site link level, you'll be greeted with a site
review and information on the site such as plugins, and a
rating.
A click takes you to the site (in a new window), with no
advertising, navigation frames or the like.
Overall
As mentioned before, the sites
are almost 100% accurate and quite useful. If you want to
continue using it past the cut off date your school will be
asked to pay $695 per year (US). No mention is made of private
use. So, make hay while the sun shines, and get in there and
search!
